Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. PD Day – Friday, June 1st –  Tomorrow is a PD Day which means there is no school for students.

2. Jump 2 Pump – Total – Thank you for your support for Jump 2 Pump at Williamsburg.  Together we raised $600.00 to donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation!

3. 2018/2019 Calendar – The 2018-19 School Year Calendar is now available. The calendar contains detailed holiday information, school start dates, PD Days, exam periods and EQAO assessments for the upcoming school year.  2018-2019 Calendar

4. Books Due Back to School – A reminder to start looking through all your books at home.  All Home Reading Books and Library Books are due back to school by Friday, June 15th.  We want to get everything sorted, organized and prepared for the next school year so we are grateful for your help with getting all books returned.

5. Provincial Election – The provincial election will be taking place on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Williamsburg is being used as a polling location. Please note that there may be an increase in traffic this day, and as a result parking around the school may be difficult. Please keep this in mind when planning your travel to the school on June 7.

6. Dress Code for School – With warm weather upon us, it is a good time to review our school dress code. (This information is included in the planners that students received in the fall.)

Clothing that is unacceptable at school includes clothing that shows a bare midriff or undergarments, halter tops, items with pictures or words which are disrespectful or offensive and items which illustrate drugs, alcohol, smoking or sex.

A good suggestion is that shoulder straps should be a minimum of 2 fingers wide. Skirts or shorts should be at least mid-thigh or fingertip length. School attire is expected to be age appropriate, complementary to the students’ physical stage of development, and tasteful.

7. Upcoming Dates to Note:

  • June 1 – PD Day – no school for students
  • June 6 – Rainbow Day – Wear Rainbow Colours to school to show your school spirit
