On November 8, 2013 Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines.  Thousands of Filipinos were killed and many more injured, with hundreds of thousands left homeless.  The wind, rain and surge from the storm caused billions of dollars of damage.  It is now 2 months later and this poor country is struggling to rebuild what was destroyed.  We want to do our part to help by raising money here at Williamsburg.

This week, please consider sending in “Toonies for the Typhoon Victims.”  On Friday, January 10th, staff and students are also encouraged to show their support for the Philippines by wearing flowers or clothing with floral prints.  Alternatively, Philippine flag colours can be worn – navy blue, red, white and yellow. Thank you in advance for your participation in this worthy cause.
