A very special congratulations goes out to all of the Williamsburg Staff, Students and Parents as Williamsburg School was once again acknowledged as an ECO GOLD SCHOOL – way to go!

Here is summary from the ECO Award Committee:
Congratulations on another fantastic year full of eco-achievements Williamsburg! It was a pleasure to visit your school and meet your enthusiastic EcoTeam. It is great to see so many opportunties for your students to take on leadership roles within the school through classroom presentations, announcements, and assemblies. Excellent work in Energy Conservation and Waste Minimization. Your Energy and Waste Walkabout Worksheets illustrate that you have established consistent practices in these two areas within your school.  The date range of your monitoring shows that your team is evaluating these critical practices over the long term and staying aware of where improvement can be made. A majority of your results are very good and this shows your education efforts are paying off – well done! Your Classroom Lighting Assessment was a perfect submission. We love to see that you are using Green Bins daily – this will surly help to divert waste from the landfill. Visiting your outdoor classroom and play space shows you have already completed lots of mulching. Keep up the great work in your School Ground Greening projects – it can be hard work but the results are worth it. In Curriculum, you have submitted some excellent examples that clearly demonstrate environmental learning across various grade levels. Re: 5.5, please provide a deeper connection to environmental learning. The various Environmental Stewardship Campaigns that your school participates in such as Earth Week, Walk to School Day, and Litterless Lunches go above and beyond while engaging the entire school community in environmental action and learning – good job! You have done a terrific job this year Williamsburg as an Ontario EcoSchool!
