3. September Classes

During the spring one of the most important responsibilities our staff collaboratively embarks upon is the creation of classes for September.  We desire to create a wonderful balance of students, taking into account everyone’s strengths and overall learning needs.

If you should feel inclined to advocate for the needs of your child in regards to what type of learner they are and they type of class environment that would suit their needs, please email Mrs. Starra at laurie_starra@wrdsb.on.ca to request a school form to complete.

*Please note that parent requests for a specific teacher(s) will not be considered.

4. Me-to-We Bake Sale – Friday, May 6th

We are holding our 3rd Annual Me-to-We Bake Sale on Friday, May 6th.  All proceeds this year are going to the May Court Club of Kitchener-Waterloo.  This is a local organization that provides service and support to women and children in need within the Waterloo Region.  Williamsburg students directly benefit from May Court through the snack bin program which provides food for students who need it during school hours. Check out the May Court website for more info on this great organization: http://www.maycourtclubofkw.org/

Donations of baked goods for the sale and cakes for the cake raffle will be greatly appreciated.  Please watch for more details coming home soon.

4. Used Book Sale

Our first ever Williamsburg Public School Book Bonanza Fundraiser sale is coming up on May 13-14!  The money raised through this sale goes towards, School Yard Improvements and other items like class trips, planners and more!

We will need your support in many ways. The first is to bring in books for the sale; adult fiction and children’s books are likely to the biggest sellers. We are also looking for non-fiction, comics, CDs, DVDs and electronic games. Please do not send in Harlequins, coffee table books, magazines, textbooks, resource books, encyclopedia or Reader’s Digest condensed books. The general rule of thumb is: if you don’t want to read it, no one else will!  We will also need volunteers. It takes an army to make this event happen. More information on specific volunteer times will follow.

Book donations will be accepted beginning Thursday, April 28th. Each class will have a box for book donations.  The class that collects the most books will win a pizza party.  Parents may also bring donations to the office beginning April 28th.

Have a great week!
