Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Used Book Sale – May 13 &14

Our School Council Used Book Sale is on this weekend.  Stop in on Friday, May 13th from 3:00 to 6:00pm or on Saturday, May 14th from 8:00am to 12 noon and browse through our huge selection of books, CD’s and DVD’s. The Book Sale is Open to the Public.

Students will have a chance to shop during the school day on Friday. You can send money to school with them that day.  Book Sale items are $1 or $2 each. The money raised through this sale will go towards school yard improvements and other items like class trips, planners and more!

2. Lost and Found

Be sure to have a look at the Lost and Found when you are here for the Book Sale.  It is full of hoodies, other clothing and water bottles.

3. Greening Day – May 14

We hope to see you at our Greening Day on Saturday, May 14th starting at 9:00 am here at Williamsburg.  We need volunteers to help shovel and rake mulch, weed and edge around trees and refresh the butterfly garden. If you can bring your own rake, shovel and/or a wheelbarrow, that would be very helpful. The more the merrier!

4. Grade 6 Orientation Nights

  • May 19 – French Immersion Gr.6 Orientation Night at Westheights P.S. at 6:00pm
  • May 25 – Grade 6 Orientation Night at Queensmount Senior P.S. at 7:00pm

5. Fort McMurray Disaster Relief – Fundraising

People in Waterloo Region are compassionate and caring, and have responded generously to appeals for assistance in times of extraordinary need or disaster at home and around the world. In responding to the emergent situation, the Waterloo Region District School Board will be launching the “Fort McMurray Disaster Relief” board-wide fund-raising initiative.

Parents, students and staff members who wish to donate to the cause may consider donating through the Waterloo Region Education Foundation Inc. (WEFI) at www.wrdsb.ca/wefi between Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, June 15th, 2016.

  • May 30 – School Council Meeting at 6:30pm
