Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. PA Day – Friday, September 23

Tomorrow is a Professional Activity (PA) Day which means no school for students.

2. Pizza/Cookie Orders for October due by Thursday, September 29th 

We are pleased to let you know that Pizza/Cookie Days are starting up again! Our first Pizza/Cookie Day is on Thursday, October 6th.  Pizza/Cookies are served at 1st Nutrition Break each Thursday for those students who have pre-ordered and pre-paid.  Orders for October 6, 13, 20 and 27 will be taken on School-Day ONLY from today until Thursday, September 29th.  No late orders will be accepted.  See the How-To-Order Guide below for step by step instructions for ordering.

3. Staebler Student Insurance

Please visit the following link: https://www.wrdsb.ca/our-schools/school-year-information/student-accident-insurance-letter/ to read about purchasing Student Insurance. While participation in the program is voluntary please consider the importance of acquiring student accident insurance especially if your child is involved in sports activities. The insurance being offered will provide students with excellent medical and dental coverage at a reasonable cost.

4. Williamsburg Morning Announcements

Parents, we post our daily announcements on our school website; this is an additional way to help keep you informed of our day to day happenings. You can find these announcements under the “Opening Exercises” tab at the top of the web page.  https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/daily-announcements/

5. Attendance/Early Pick-Up

Please call our Attendance Line (519-570-8146 x 3766#) and update us anytime your child is absent.  The Attendance Line is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

If your child is being picked up for an appointment throughout the school day, please inform both the teacher and the office.  This allows us to have your child waiting for your arrival in the office.

Please note that all parents/visitors must come and sign in at the office upon arrival at the school.

6. Upcoming Dates to Note:
– September 22 – 29 – October Pizza/Cookie Orders Open on School-Day.
(Late orders will not be accepted.)
– September 23 – PA Day – No School for Students
– September 26 – First School Council Meeting (6:30pm in the Library)
– September 28 – Jersey Spirit Day – Wear your favourite jersey to school
– September 29 – Picture Day for Kindergarten Students and Sibling Photos
– September 30 – Picture Day for Grades 1 to 6 Students

 

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

– Log-in to School-Day (https://www.school-day.com/ )
– Click Products at the top of your Dashboard to see all the Pizza and Cookie products that are available to order in this ordering period
-Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish adding the items to your cart. (Note that orders must be placed for each week and product separately.   There will be 8 products to choose from in this 4 week ordering period)
– Be sure to order for each of your children by choosing the child’s name from the drop-down box for each week
– When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
– Click Check Out to pay on-line and complete the payment process
– If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash.  Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date.  Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
