Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Scholastic Book Fair will be arriving soon, and we’re excited about sharing the joy of reading with our students. We invite you to participate in this year’s Scholastic Book Fair taking place from Tuesday, November 14th through Thursday, November 16th, by volunteering.
Scholastic Book Fairs gives our school the opportunity to bring families, teachers, students, and books together. It’s the ultimate book event! Additionally, a portion of the sales benefits our school. It’s the best way to raise funds while encouraging kids to read.
Being a part of something special is easier than you think. There are lots of ways to volunteer. We need people in a variety of areas. Listed below are the different areas in which you can volunteer.
1. Collating of letter and Book Fair flyers announcing and promoting our Book Fair. (1-2 hr. commitment – during school on Thursday, November 9th)
2. Set-up and Take down of Book Fair. (approx. 1 hour – please choose one of the dates below):
- Set-up – Monday, November 13th at 3:20pm
- Take down – Thursday, November 16th at 7:30pm
3. Working at our Cashier Table and helping students and shoppers select just the right books. (1-2 hrs – during and after school on the days of the book fair.) Book Fair times are as follows:
- Tuesday, November 14th and Wednesday, November 15th – 8:30am-4:30pm
- Thursday, November 16th – 8:30am-7:30pm
If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mrs. Branje (nelita_branje@wrdsb.ca) with a number she can reach you at and when you would be available to volunteer by Monday, November 6th. Or if you know of someone (i.e., high school students looking for volunteer hours) who would make a fabulous addition to our volunteer team, please feel free to include that information as well.
