Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. February Pizza Orders Due By January 25th – Pizza/Cookie orders for February are now open on School-Day.  This ordering period covers the weeks of February 1, 8, 15 and 22.  Orders will be taken on School-Day until Thursday, January 25th. No late orders will be accepted.  See the How-To-Order Guide at the end of this note for step by step instructions for ordering.  Call the school office if you have any questions – 519-742-1848.

2. School Parking Lot Reminders – All parents/guardians are reminded that the school parking lot is for staff ONLY, with the exception of Daycare Parents for drop off and pick up.

Please plan to drop off and pick up your children in designated areas and NOT in the parking lot or in the school bus loading zone.  Our parking lot is not a safe place for students and should not be a part of their planned route home.  Also, cars should not be left running/idling while waiting to drop off or pick up your children.  The area the front of school (on Commonwealth Cres.) is a school bus loading zone and is not to be used as a drop off area between 8:00 am and 4:40 pm. Thank you for working with us to keep our children safe!

3. Attendance – Please call our Attendance Line (519-742-1848 x 1) and update us anytime your child will be late or absent.  The Attendance Line is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

4. French Immersion Registration Continues for September 2018 – French Immersion Registration for students who are currently in SK is open now and is to be completed on-line by January 31, 2018.  Please click this link for more details about the program and how to register: http://www.wrdsb.ca/french/

5. Kindergarten Registration for Children Born in 2013 and 2014 is Open Now – If you have a child that will be starting school in September 2018, it is time to get them signed up at a WRDSB school.  Follow this link to see all the steps for registration: https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/2018/01/16/kindergarten-registration-for-children-born-in-2013-and-2014/

6. Upcoming Dates to Note:

  • January 18 – 25 – February Pizza/Cookie Orders Open on School-Day
  • January 22 – School Council Meeting at 6:30pm in the Library
  • January 26 – PD Day – no school for students
  • January 31 – Last Day for SK Families to Register for French Immersion
  • February 9 – Canada Spirit Day to celebrate the Opening of the Olympics
  • February 14 – Pink, Red and White Day

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

  • Log-in to School-Day – https://www.school-day.com/
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard, then click February –  Pizza Orders.
  • Select each DATE that you wish each child to have pizza using the drop down arrow within this Product and make note of how many slices of pizza and the topping you want for each given week. This ordering period covers 4 Thursdays including February 1, 8, 15 and 22.
  • Click add to cart
  • Select the next week from the drop down box
  • Use the drop down box for each of your children as well if you have more than one child that you are ordering for
  • If you wish to order cookies as well, go back to the products tab and Click on February – Cookie Orders and follow the same process as listed above to order pizza
  • Once you have added all your items, click the cart in the the top right corner of your screen to view all your selected items. Take a moment to review your order and make sure that your selections are correct.
  • Click Check Out to pay on-line or click Will Pay By Cash if you prefer to pay with cash. (For cash orders, send in the order number and the EXACT cash amount to school with your child by the order deadline – January 25th. Late orders cannot be accepted.)
  • NOTE: If your child is absent on pizza day, they will miss their order that day. The pizza and cookies will not be saved or re-distributed to friends or siblings.
