Hello Parents,

1. 80’s Spirit Day – Friday, November 23rd is 80’s Day at Williamsburg. Dig out those leg warmers and headbands and show us your school spirit!

2. Pizza/Cookie Orders for DECEMBER due by Thursday, November 29th – Our next round of Pizza/Cookie orders is now open on School-Day. This ordering period covers the weeks of December 6, 13 and 20. See the How-To-Order Guide below for step by step instructions for ordering. Call the school office if you have any questions or want to get registered on School-Day – 519-742-1848.

3. School Council Notes

– Wintergreen Fundraiser – Volunteers Needed: School Council is looking from help on December 4th from 9:15 – 10:30 with unloading and sorting the wintergreen orders. If you are able to help please send an email to Erin Jamieson at eljamieson@yahoo.ca

Orders will be ready for pick-up as follows: (Enter through doors by the gym)

  • December 4th – 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm
  • December 5th – 8:30 am – 9:30 am & 2:30 pm – 3:40 pm

– Winter Gear Drive: If you have winter gear in good condition (hats, mitts, boots, snow pants, coats) that your child has outgrown please bring them in during the school Wintergreen Fundraiser Pick-up on December 4 and 5. If you are not picking up a wintergreen order, winter gear can be dropped off at the office on those dates. They will then be taken to a local school that will put them to good use keeping kids and families warm this winter.

5. HERO GEM Update – We continue to work on Gratitude this month. When you practice gratitude, your brain lights up in places that help you take away stress and sadness.

6. French Program Information Nights for Parents of Senior Kindergarten Students – The Waterloo Region District School Board offers two French programs, both beginning in grade one. (https://www.wrdsb.ca/french)

Information regarding the Core French Program and the grade one French Immersion Program was sent home last week. Both programs are designed to meet the needs of your child. Please take the time to read this brochure carefully before making your choice. In order to provide parents/guardians with information about the French Immersion Program, the following information sessions have been scheduled at the WRDSB Board Office at 51 Ardelt Avenue, Kitchener in the Cambridge Room:

  • Monday, November 26 at 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, December 18 at 12:00 pm
  • Tuesday, January 8 at 7:00 pm

On-line Registration for parents of SK students for the French Immersion program that begins in Grade 1 opens on Monday, January 7, 2019, at https://www.wrdsb.ca/french

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

  • Log-in to School-Day (www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard and select Dec 2018 – Pizza Orders and/or Dec 2018 – Cookies Orders
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish, adding the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay online and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash. Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date. Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
