Hello Parents,

1. Pizza/Cookie Orders for JANUARY 2019 due by Thursday, December 20th – Our next round of Pizza/Cookie orders is now open on School-Day. This ordering period covers the weeks of January 10, 17, 24, 31. See the How-To-Order Guide below for step by step instructions for ordering. Call the school office if you have any questions or want to get registered on School-Day – 519-742-1848.

2. Food Drive– Our Food Drive is in full swing. Thanks to everyone who has already donated! We are collecting non-perishable items to donate to the Waterloo Region Food Bank until Friday, December 14th. Please send any donations in with your child by tomorrow. Items that are most needed are: canned meat and fish, tomato sauce, dried beans, canned stews and chili, pasta, rice, cereal, soup, and canned fruit. Remember to check expiry dates before you send in your donations. Thank you for supporting our community!

3. Winter Concerts – A reminder that our Winter Concerts for our Grades 1 to 6 classes are happening on December 19th and 20th. The concerts begin at 9:20 am both days. 3. Lost and Found – Our Lost and Found is full and overflowing! Encourage your children to take a look for missing items. We will set out Lost and Found items for parents to check during our Holiday Concerts on December 19th and 20th. Any items that have not been picked up by December 20thth will be donated.

4. HERO GEM UPDATE – We continue to focus on safety for the month of December. We encourage you to talk to your child about why safety is important and how children can stay safe during the winter.

5. Inclement Weather Policy – As we have now entered into wintery weather, here is an update from WRDSB on how decisions are made about bus cancellations and school closures:

  • Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) bus operators start monitoring road and weather conditions early in the morning and any recommendations to make any bus cancellations or school closures is discussed with the Director of Education
  • Transportation cancellations do not automatically mean schools are closed
  • WRDSB tries to make bus cancellation/closure decisions 6:00 a.m.

  • December 21 – Pajama and Stuffie Day
  • December 23 – January 6 – Winter Break
  • January 7 – First Day Back to School
  • January 7– Registration is Open for Gr. 1 French Immersion (for SK students at www.wrdsb.ca/french )

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

  • Log-in to School-Day (www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard and select Jan 2019 – Pizza Orders and/or Jan 2019 – Cookies Orders
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish to add the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay online and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash. Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date. Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
