Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. PD Day – Friday, January 25 – No school for students.

2. February Pizza and Cookie Orders Due January 31, 2019 – Our next round of Pizza/Cookie orders are now open on School-Day. This ordering period covers the weeks of February 7, 14, 21, and 28. See the How-To-Order Guide below for step by step instructions for ordering. Call the school office if you have any questions or want to get registered on School-Day – 519-742-1848.

3. School Closures – This week we had many phone calls asking us if the school is open due to the weather. If you are ever unsure, please check our school website: wlm.wrdsb.ca/ and please do not call the school office as it ties up our phone lines. If the WRDSB schools are closed, this information is posted on all school websites as well on WRDSB website by 6:00 am – https://www.wrdsb.ca/.

You can subscribe to our school website and/or the WRDSB website by scrolling to the bottom of the Home page; Under STAY CONNECTED enter your email address and click subscribe. This way any new posts from these sites will automatically be delivered to your email inbox.

4. Kindergarten Registration for NEW JK/SK Students – Kindergarten registration for children born in 2014/2015 is now open online – https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/2019/01/14/kindergarten-registration-for-children-born-in-2014-and-2015/ . If your child currently attends Williamsburg Public School in JK, there is no need to register for SK as this happens automatically at the school level. Please share this information with your friends and neighbours in our school community.  If you have any questions about the registration process for Kindergarten please, do not hesitate to call the Office at 519-742-1848 x3.

5. Last week for French Immersion Registration for SK Students – French Immersion Registration for students who are currently in SK is open now and is to be completed online by January 31, 2019. Please click this link for more details about the program and how to register: www.wrdsb.ca/french/

6. HERO GEM UPDATE – We continue to work on building optimism at Williamsburg. We hope you will do the same at home. We encourage you to have everyone pay attention to their word choices and to use positive language. For example, I can get better at math by practicing vs saying I can’t do it. This is an example of showing a growth mindset.

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

  • Log-in to School-Day (www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard and select Feb 2019 – Pizza Orders and/or Feb 2019 – Cookies Orders
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish adding the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay online and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash. Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date. Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
