Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Easter Holiday – The school is closed on Friday, April 19th and Monday, April 22nd for the Easter Holiday. We hope you all enjoy an extra long weekend!

2. May AND June Pizza/Cookie Orders Due April 25, 2019 – Pizza/Cookie orders for BOTH May and June are now open on School-Day. This is our LAST order of the school year and includes the weeks of May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13 and 20. The final deadline to order is Thursday, April 25th and late orders cannot be accepted. Please note that there will be no pizza/cookie delivery on the last day of school (June 27, 2019) so please mark your calendar and plan to send a full lunch on that day.

3. Creating Classes for September – In preparation for next year’s classes, teachers from each grade will be meeting with Special Education Staff and Administration to consider the placement of each child based on a combination of the following criteria:

  • Academic level
  • Learning Skills and Work Habits
  • Social/emotional levels of each student
  • Relationships that exist between our students
  • Balancing the special needs of students in each classroom

If you feel there are specific learning considerations that we should be addressing when making class placements, please feel free to submit them, in writing, and give them to Ms. Noonan by May 1st. Please note that parent requests for a specific teacher will NOT be considered.

4. HERO GEM UPDATE – We continue to work on showing Efficacy this month. Share an example of something that YOU wanted to do but didn’t know how. Then explain to your child how you worked to learn how to do it and mastered it. Then, ask your child to think about a similar situation for him/herself (e.g. learning to ride a bike, learning to swim or play a game/sport, finishing an assignment, cleaning their room, etc.) This really is another example of the POWER OF YET! Encourage your children to set goals and to share their goals with people they trust. Then encourage them to be accountable for the goal.

  • Log-in to School-Day (www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard and select May and June 2019 – Pizza Orders and/or May and June 2019 – Cookies Orders
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish, adding the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay online and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash. Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date. Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
