Hello Parents,

To all of our new and returning School-Day families – welcome to the weekly update!

Normally, this update comes out each Thursday and includes school-wide updates. We decided to send it out on Friday this week since it was a four-day week. You will find info about upcoming events and dates. We are glad to you have you with us!

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Meet The Teacher Night – Thank you to all families that attended our Meet the Teacher Night last night. We are so happy to be able to get our partnerships off to a great start!

2. Important Paperwork – This is a friendly reminder to complete and return your child’s first day paperwork. This includes your Data Verification, Media Release, and Medical Forms. It is very important that the office and your child’s teacher have the most up to date and accurate information.

3. Attendance – Our goal is to have every student at school and ON TIME each and every day. Please notify us anytime your child will be late or absent:

Both phone and email are available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Please call prior to the start of the school day if at all possible. If your child is being picked up for an appointment throughout the school day, please inform both the teacher and the office. This allows us to have your child waiting for your arrival in the office.

4. School Council – Join us for our first School Council Meeting of the year on Monday, September 30th at 6:00pm in the Library. Nomination forms to run for an elected position were sent home on Tuesday. Please return these forms to the office by September 12th if you are interested in an executive role. We would love to have new members – all are welcome to join us.

5. Junior Circuit and Walking Path – WE NEED YOUR HELP! Due to the need for direct supervision when students are on the Circuit, the Circuit will be CLOSED before school and after school until 3:35. After our supervision ends at 3:35 and we are sure that all students are safely on their way home, students who have parents with them can play on the climber. Please remind your children that the circuit is closed before and after school.

6. Drop Off and Pick Up – We encourage parents to walk children to school as we have a shortage of parking near the school. If you do drive your children to school, please remember that the school parking lot is for staff and daycare parking only. There is no parking on Commonwealth Crescent and the manager of Goodlife has also asked that parents not use their lot for pick up and drop offs. Please look for space on other side streets where parking is permitted.

7. Pizza – Our first Pizza Day will be Thursday, October 3rd. Orders for each week in October can be made on School-Day between September 19th and 26th. Stay tuned for more information.

8. School Info in Planner – Please read the front 8 pages of your child’s planner for important Williamsburg information. Once you have read the pages, please sign the front page in the space provided.
