Hello Families,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. OSSTF and ETFO Work Action Update – ETFO indicated that there will be a two-week pause on province-wide and board strike days. If no agreement is reached centrally with the province by March 6, 2020, ETFO will begin Phase 7 of work-to-rule. We will share more information as it becomes available on March 7.

As changes to job action can happen at any time, it is important to stay tuned and stay informed. For information updates please:

2. Mabel’s Labels Fundraising – Do you need help with organization? Has your child lost various items this school year? Do you need a solution to customize labels for your items? School council can help with our ongoing Mabel’s Labels fundraiser! Use this link to place your order: https://mabelslabels.ca/fundraising/support and choose Williamsburg Public School (Kitchener).

3. Are You Moving or Do You Have New Neighbours? – Please be sure to inform the school office if you are moving anytime in the next few months or over the summer. We are making plans for the new school year and need to keep track of where all of our students will be.

Also, be sure to let any new neighbours know that we want them to register now at Williamsburg so we can include them in our classes.

All of our students must live within the Williamsburg school boundaries. Contact us at 519-742-1848 if you have any questions.

4. Flyers and Brochures – Due to the current union sanctions, teachers are not able to hand out flyers and brochures that we have received from the community (i.e., soccer camps, music lessons). Therefore we are uploading digital copies of the flyers in the file section on School-Day. Please occasionally check this section to see if there is anything you’d be interested in!

5. Pizza days for March – This is a reminder that there will be no pizza days for the month of March. Please send a full lunch with your child(ren) on Thursdays.

6. Hero Gems – This month’s focus is ownership. “At Williamsburg we show ownership. We take responsibility for our words and actions. We make good choices for ourselves.”

7. Home Reading Incentive Program – Remember to encourage your child to keep reading every night! We will continue to have draws each month!
