Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Popcorn Update – Thank you to all of our families who sold popcorn for our School Council Popcorn Fundraiser.  We sold lots and lots of popcorn and raised over $4000 to put towards field trips, planners and greening next year.  Thanks you also to our school council members and volunteers who helped organize the fundraiser, tally orders and count money.

The popcorn orders will be sent home with students on May 23 and May 24.

2. Dress Code – As the weather warms up, here is a reminder of our school dress code:

Students are expected to come to school wearing clothing suitable to the season and respectful for our positive learning environment.

  • For safety, proper footwear must be worn at all times. Students should arrive at school wearing outdoor footwear appropriate for safe participation in outside activities and break times.  To keep our floors clean and dry, students are asked to keep a pair of “inside shoes” with non-marking soles to wear inside the school and for safe participation in gym
  • Sleeveless tops needs straps a minimum of two fingers wide
  • Backless, strapless or low-cut tops are not permitted at school
  • Shorts and skirts need to be of an appropriate length (mid-thigh) to cover the upper thigh area
  • Jackets, hoods and hats are for outdoor wear only
  • All clothing must be free of language or graphics that are discriminatory, sexual in nature or which advertise tobacco, alcohol or illegal substances
  • Exceptionally tight, revealing clothing or exposed undergarments are not acceptable (for example: bare midriffs, halter tops, and short shorts)

When necessary, students will be asked to change into more appropriate clothing or they may be provided with something more suitable to wear.

3. Scooter and Bike Safety – A reminder that scooters and bikes must be walked onto school property and safely locked in the bike racks before going around to the playground.

4. Upcoming Dates to Note:

  • May 17 to 24 – June Pizza/Cookie Orders Open on School-Day
  • May 21 – Victoria Day Holiday
