Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Kindergarten Registration for Children Born in 2012 and 2013 is now open!
Now is the time to register your child for Kindergarten for this September! Click this link for step-by-step instructions on how to register: https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/2017/01/31/kindergarten-registration-procedure-for-children-born-in-2012-and-2013/. If your child currently attends Williamsburg Public School in JK, there is no need to register for SK as this happens automatically at the school level.

2. Red and Pink Day – February 14th  – Join in the fun and wear red and/or pink to school on February 14th to show your Williamsburg school spirit!

3. Me to We Club – Five Days of Freedom – February 13 to 17

We are getting very excited for our Five Days of Freedom fundraiser happening all next week! Thank you to those of you who have donated a prize for the cake raffle on Tuesday or the loonie toss on Wednesday. Tomorrow is the last day to send in loonie toss donations or to let us know if you are able to donate a cake or cupcakes.

We have some awesome prizes for the loonie toss including a giant stuffie, games, books, puzzles, Kitchener Rangers gear, and toy cars. The Kitchener Titans have also donated two family four packs of tickets for two games in March!! Prizes will be on display in the display case by the gym on Monday so students have a chance to check them out before the Loonie Toss.

As a reminder, here are the events happening next week:

  • Monday – Pencilgrams – $1.00 each. Send a fancy pencil and message to a friend and it will be delivered on Friday.
  • Tuesday – Cake Raffle – 3 tickets for $1.00
  • Wednesday – Loonie Toss – Bring a loonie to school.  Make note of your name and room number on it using masking tape.
  • Thursday – Candy Jar Guesses – 5 guesses for $1.00. We will have at least 6 jars.
  • Friday – Bring $1.00 to school and wear a hat and/or chew gum (Students will need to bring their own gum as it will not be provided.)

All funds raised will go to support Free the Children and some of their initiatives, including providing medical kits, school supplies, goats and chickens and other resources for families. We are looking forward to a great week of activities! Thank you for your support!

4. Family Fun Night – February 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

A reminder that we would love for you to join us for a fun night of games and learning on Thursday, February 23rd.  Be sure to let us know if you are coming by this Monday so that we can have enough supplies for everyone.

Please complete and return the pink form that was sent home this week with your child OR send an email note to laurie_starra@wrdsb.on.ca and make note of your family name, the number of children that are coming with you and the ages of the children.  Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you!
