Thank you to everyone who submitted a yellow School Council Self-Nomination Form to take part in our 2017-2018 School Council at Williamsburg.

The following elected positions were available: Chairperson (or co-chairs), Treasurer and Secretary for our 2017-2018 School Council.

The following individuals have shown interest in taking part in an executive role this year:

Chairperson/Co-Chairs:

– Jennifer Bertelsen (previous Co-chair)
– Erin Jamieson (previous Co-chair)

Tresurer:

– Sue Lawrence (previous Treasurer)

Secretary/Co-Secretary:

– Jennifer Bertelsen (previous Co-chair)
– Antanu Sarkar

Given that the number of candidates nominated is equal to the number of candidates required, we will be declaring all of the candidates listed above elected.  Therefore, no elections will be necessary this year.  We will use our September meeting time to set our course for the upcoming year.

Please consider joining us for our first School Council Meeting on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the school library.  .  The September Agenda will be posted by Wednesday on our school website at: https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/school-council/school-council-agendas-and-minutes/.  Williamsburg School Council is not a “make-work” organization.  Our School Council provides an opportunity to develop a strong educational partnership between parents and Williamsburg School Staff while helping to make our school a great place to be!

By attending our monthly meetings you will become more familiar with the day-to-day school events, Ministry curricula and general educational issues.  You will also have an opportunity to help with and plan fundraising initiatives and special events.  Your attendance at these meetings will also help to inform us on issues that you feel are important to your child’s overall success.

Thank you to all who put their names forward for positions.  We look forward to seeing MANY out on September 25th for our first meeting of the 2017-2018 school year!
