Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Open House and Fun Fair – TODAY! – We look forward to seeing you tonight at our 10th Anniversary Celebrations. Our Open House runs from 3:45 to 4:45 pm and our Fun Fair and Food Trucks will go from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  A reminder that there will be no parking at the school during these events. See you soon!

2. PA Day – Friday, September 22 – Tomorrow is a Professional Activity (PA) Day which means no school for students.

3. Pizza/Cookie Orders for October due by Thursday, September 28th  – We are pleased to let you know that Pizza/Cookie Days are starting up again! Our first Pizza/Cookie Day is on Thursday, October 5th.  Pizza/Cookies are served at 1st Nutrition Break each Thursday for those students who have pre-ordered and pre-paid.  Orders for October 5, 12, 19 and 26 will be taken on School-Day ONLY from today until Thursday, September 28th.  No late orders will be accepted.  A pink info form was sent home with each student outlining all the Pizza/Cookie details.  Pricing for 2017-18: $1.50/pizza slice or $1.00/cookie.   See bottom of this step by step instructions for ordering.

4. Photo Day Information 

  • September 28 – Photo Day for Kindergarten classes and Room 10
  • September 29 – Photo Day for Grades 1 to 6 Classes
  • What to wear: For best results, we recommend wearing bright, solid coloured clothing, but do not wear green
  • You will receive a portrait pass code a few weeks after photos are taken and can order packages at that time.  There are no orders being taken on photo day.
  • On-line Ordering: You can view your child’s photos on over 40 different backgrounds before ordering after receiving your portrait pass code.
  • – If you wish to get email notifications from Edge Imaging about photo day, go to https://photoday.edgeimaging.ca/ and enter our school code: BUG.

5. Public Health Update – Parents, please remember to keep your child’s immunization records up-to-date with Public Health.

The annual enforcement of the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) helps to keep our students and schools healthy. Immunization protects children from many diseases that are easily spread in schools.

Public Health will mail letters to those students with incomplete records. If you receive a letter, please arrange a visit with your health care provider to assess and update your child’s immunizations, and contact Public Health to update your child’s record or to place a legal exemption on file.

  • Log-in to School-Day (https://www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard to see all the October Pizza and Cookie products that are available to order in this ordering period
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish adding the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay on-line and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash.  Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date.  Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
