Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. October 26 PD Day – Please remember that tomorrow is a PD Day. Staff will be working on our School Improvement Plan and there is NO school for students.

2. Last Call for NOVEMBER Pizza/Cookie Orders –  Pizza/Cookie orders for each Thursday in November are due by today on School-Day. No late orders will be accepted. Also a reminder that any cash payments must be submitted in exact change to the office by 3:30 today. Unpaid orders cannot be processed. You are welcome to call the school office if you have any questions – 519-742-1848.

3. School Council – Join us on Monday, October 29th at 6:00 pm for our next School Council Meeting. We will be meeting in the Williamsburg School Library. Everyone is welcome!

4. October 31 – Spirit Day – On October 31st, Williamsburg staff and students can wear a costume, can come dressed in black and orange or can “dress as a student” to show their Williamsburg school spirit. If your child is coming in costume, please ensure that costumes are school appropriate (no weapons, masks or violent/scary costumes).

In keeping with our “no Birthday and Special Events Treat Guidelines”, please do NOT send treats to school with your child on Halloween.

5. ADHD Workshop Invitation – The Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada is hosting an ADHD Community Workshop on November, 25th in Kitchener. Please go to this website for more information: caddac.ca/adhd/events/adhd-community-workshop/Nov25

6. Cell Phone Reminder – Students should not bring cell phones to school. If a student needs to get in touch with a parent during the school day then they should let their teacher or office staff know and they will help the child use a school phone to call from our school office. Similarly if a parent needs to get in touch with their child, they must do so through the main office. If your child has a compelling reason to have a cell phone at school, please contact Ms. Noonan or Mrs. Peebles.

7. Upcoming Dates to Note:

  • October 18 to 25 – November Pizza/Cookie Orders Open on School-Day
  • October 25 – Photo Re-take Day
  • October 26 – PD Day – No school for students
  • October 29 – School Council Meeting at 6:00 pm
  • October 31 – Wear Black and Orange or a Costume to School
  • November 4 – Fall Time Change – Clocks go back one hour at bedtime
  • November 13 to 15 – Scholastic Book Fair
  • November 16 – PD Day – No school for students

~ How-To-Order Guide for Pizza/Cookies:

  • Log-in to School-Day (www.school-day.com/ )
  • Click Products at the top of your Dashboard and select Nov 2018 – Pizza Orders and/or Nov 2018 – Cookies Orders
  • Order Pizza and/or Cookies as you wish adding the items to your cart. Use the drop-down boxes to select the child, week and topping you wish to order. When you are ready to complete your order, click My Cart
  • Click Check Out to pay on-line and complete the payment process
  • If you prefer to pay by cash, click Will Pay By Cash. Print receipt or make note of the Order Number and send to school with your payment by the order deadline date. Your order is not complete until payment is received at school
