Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Little Caesar’s Fundraiser – Thank you to all families that helped support our Little Caesar’s Pizza Kit Fundraiser. We sold 359 kits and made $2,298.00 to put towards our fundraising initiatives! Since we surpassed our goal of selling 300 kits, our students will get an extra long break on June 10! Wooo! Hooo! We are also excited to announce that Mme Zank’s class was our top selling class so they will be receiving a class pizza party as their prize! Congratulations to Mme Zank’s class!

2. Williamsburg Community Association Events June 8, 2019 – When we think of Neighbours Day, we think of neighbours and community partners coming together to enjoy a great time together. Saturday June 8th will be no different in the Williamsburg Community! Join your Neighbours for lots of fun in Max Becker Common with Williamsburg Community Association’s 90’s Neighbours Day Party & Movie in the Park this Saturday June 8th starting at 5:00 p.m. http://williamsburgcommunity.ca/neighbours-day-sends-williamsburg-back-to-the-90s/

3. Mabel’s Labels Fundraising – Do you need help with organization? Has your child lost various items this school year? Do you need a solution to customize labels for your items? School council can help with our ongoing Mabel’s Labels fundraiser! Use this link to place your order: https://mabelslabels.ca/fundraising/support and choose Williamsburg Public School (Kitchener).

4. Thank you to Our School Council – We would like to say a special thank you to all those who came out to School Council this year. Thanks to their support, we raised more than a total of $11,000 which will help to support field trips, planners and headphones as well as some outdoor equipment. Special thanks to Jaime Russell-Reilly for chairing this year’s council. We could not have done it without her leadership.

5. Books and Kits Due Back to School – A reminder to start looking through all your books at home. All Home Reading Books, Library Books, and Home Math Kits are due back to school by Friday, June 14th. We want to get everything sorted, organized and prepared for the next school year so we are grateful for your help with getting all books returned.

6. Are you moving? – We continue to work on developing the school organization for the 2019-2020 school year. To adequately plan and staff classrooms we need to have an accurate understanding of who will be attending our school in the fall. If you are moving, it is important to let us know and to register at the new school even if your child won’t be starting there until September. We also ask that you spread the word to any new families who are moving or have moved into our school community and ask them to contact the school as soon as possible. Accurate enrollment numbers in the spring help establish a smooth fall start-up and help to prevent a reorganization of classes in the first few weeks of school. We appreciate your help! https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/forms/moving-form/

6. HERO GEM UPDATE – Our HERO GEM trait for June is RESPECT. At Williamsburg we show respect. We respect ourselves, others, and the environment. We are kind to one another.
