Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS – All Library Books, Home Reading Books, and Home Math Kits are due back to school by TOMORROW – June 14th!

2. Library Message from Mrs. Branje – Dear Families, I’d like to take this time to thank you all for a wonderful year in the library. Your child(ren) enjoyed regular visits to the library as well as participating in many different reading programs. Thank you parents for helping to foster a love of reading in your child(ren). I encourage everyone to take advantage of the many programs that are offered at Kitchener Public Library over the summer. Check out their website for programs and events: www.kpl.org/ . We just had our visit from the KPL this week. Our students had a chance to hear more about their summer programs.

Have a wonderful summer and happy reading! Mrs. Branje, Library Clerk

3. Primary Play Day June 21st for Grades 1, 2, 3 – Here is some important information for our upcoming Primary Play Day:

  • If it’s raining the event will be cancelled
  • Apply sunscreen before your child comes to school
  • Wear a hat, cool and comfortable clothing and sunglasses
  • Wear running shoes, no sandals or flip-flops
  • Send along a water-bottle labelled with your child’s first and last name
  • Send along a change of clothes in your child’s backpack in case they get wet or dirty while playing.

4. Little Caesar’s Pizza Kit Fundraiser: Thank you to all the families who ordered pizza kits to support our fundraiser and to the families who remembered to pick them up this week. Huge thank you goes out to Erin Jamieson for leading this fundraiser and to all the volunteers who helped to tally orders, count money and distribute kits.

5. Mabel’s Labels Fundraising – Do you need help with organization? Has your child lost various items this school year? Do you need a solution to customize labels for your items? School council can help with our ongoing Mabel’s Labels fundraiser! Use this link to place your order: https://mabelslabels.ca/fundraising/support and choose Williamsburg Public School (Kitchener).

6. Are you moving? – We continue to work on developing the school organization for the 2019-2020 school year. To adequately plan and staff classrooms we need to have an accurate understanding of who will be attending our school in the fall. If you are moving, it is important to let us know and to register at the new school even if your child won’t be starting there until September. We also ask that you spread the word to any new families who are moving or have moved into our school community and ask them to contact the school as soon as possible. Accurate enrolment numbers in the spring help establish a smooth fall start-up and help to prevent a reorganization of classes in the first few weeks of school. We appreciate your help! https://wlm.wrdsb.ca/forms/moving-form/

7. HERO GEM UPDATE – We continue to focus on RESPECT this month. At Williamsburg respect is our overarching goal and is reflected in our Code of Conduct. This is a great time for you to take some time to review our Code of Conduct with your child.
