Hello Parents,

Here are this week’s updates:

1. Upcoming Dates to Note:
– October 17 – School Council Meeting at 6:30 pm in the library
– October 20 – 24 – Pumpkin Voting at Sobey’s (see note below)
– October 27 – Photo Re-take Day
– October 31 – Dress like a book character or wear black and orange

2. School Council
Our first School Council Meeting of the year is happening on Monday, October 17th at 6:30 pm in the library.  We would love to have you join us.

Elections for this year’s executive will take place at this meeting.

3. Photos Arriving Soon
We are expecting student photo packages to be arriving soon to Williamsburg.  They will be sent home with the students as soon as they get here so that you can order whatever photos you wish.  If you are not satisfied with the photos, there will be a photo re-take day on Thursday, October 27th.

4. School-Day Language Feature
The School-Day Parent Dashboard looks different this year than it did last year.  One of the new features included is the ability to select the language that you see on School-Day.  Click on SELECT LANGUAGE in the top right side of the screen to choose the language you wish to use.  It is a great tool for our Williamsburg families.

5. Sobey’s – Williamsburg Pumpkin Contest
Sobey’s has generously given a pumpkin to each class at Williamsburg to decorate.  Decorated pumpkins will be returned to Sobey’s on October 20th and displayed in the store where customers can vote on their favourite pumpkin.  The class/pumpkin that gets the most votes will win a class pizza party.  Be sure to vote between October 20th and 24th!

6. October 31 – Spirit Day
On October 31st, Williamsburg staff and students can wear a book character costume or can come dressed in black and orange to show their Williamsburg school spirit.
